It’s odd, surprising and amazing when you have an instant familial recognition of a face of someone of the same (but localised) surname, but from completely the other side of Europe – Samogitia or Žemaitija to be precise, the coastal Lowland of Lithuania. Goose bumps don’t even come close!!! Curiously and spookily I can see my father, and my grandfather on an old 2 Lita banknote!
